Flash: to use or not?

I wonder what is your general attitude to flash. As my experience shows a lot of people build their sites using Flash. Is it so necessary? To my mind Flash isn't equal to great site. And what's your opinion?

I like Flash. It's very impressive. Flash templates arу full of action. I like it about them.

Please note that the popular/big brands have Flash Sites, because it is really cool.

Flash sites look really amazing but sometimes they are downloading too slowly :rolleyes:

Flash is rather difficult to customize. One should learn a lot to make simple changes but it looks really eye-catching.

Sometimes Flash is really to the point, but sometimes not. I would say a lot depends on web designer's skills in my view, it should fit smoothly, I mean Flash, and if it does, than the site looks really like a masterpiece.

I agree with Leas. If the designer you hire is well in Flash and he feels that Flash will ideally fit your project you should trust your designer and choose Flash.

I like Flash effects! They look so fascinating. Don't even know how they can spoil any design ;)

I would use Flash because I don't like boring sites

I prefer clean design so Flash isn't for me but I've seen some Flash sites which impressed me a lot

I also like Flash. Just have a look at the free template exposed in Templates Downloads block. Doesn't the fire in the fireplace looks impressive?

Only drawback I find in Flash is that it lowers position of your Flash web site on search engines.

I'm a newbie in web design and I tried myself in Flash, but it is too hard for me to work with so far.
Practice makes perfect, huh? :)
