Editing a movie clip.

We bought a flash template and using Flash CS3 to modifiy it. We have pretty much figured out most of it out. As in replacing Images/text. The problem I am having is movie clips. It has 2 symbols/movie clips that has text in them that needs to replaced with my name. We are getting used to this program but still if you could give us a step by step I would appreciate it. I have looked everywhere online and cant seem to find any info to help my particular problem.
